1970s Fresher Rickenbacker 4001 Copy (w/ OHSC) (MIJ)
Rare bird alert! This insanely cool Fresher bass is an elusive one indeed - very little information online about these, although this is likely a Greco in sheep's clothing as Fresher and Greco were both manufactured in the Matsumoto region in Japan in the 70s, and this one certainly shares a lot of manufacturing similarties with the bolt-on Greco Ricky copies we've had in our hands on before.
One thing is for sure, to see one of these in a mocha brown finish is incredibly rare, and what looks to be nyatoh mahogany body and 3 piece maple neck makes it even more desirable! This is a truly fantastic bass with superb pickups and great playability. We've given it the full restoration treatment, every inch of this bass has been lovingly cleaned, restored and set up to perfection. Running 45100s with a slick action, this 4001 copy even features Rickenbacker's stereo output, allowing you to run each pickup separately to 2 different amps if your heart desires. Comes with it's original case! Warning: case has a hefty nicotine odour. We'd recommend leaving it out in the sun for a bit, if it ever comes out again.
