1968 Yamaha SB-1C Bass Flying Banana Nippon Gakki (MIJ)

Warning: not for those who like to play sitting down. Released alongside the SB-2A series of basses in the late 60s, the SB-1C is a super fun, super quirky and super rare offering from Yamaha Nippon Gakki which was manufactured for an extremely limited time. Whilst the Flying Samurai shape continued to be produced and then reissued in the early 2000s, the Flying Banana shape was a single run and never produced again.

That being said, this is about the coolest bass you could hope for. it features the original tilting bridge cover (previously used for a foam mute which is no longer present), single high output neck pickup, short scale agility with a 0 fret system and a tug bar so you can tug on your banana strings. In great original condition aside from a new Switchcraft jack socket and some replaced pickguard screws, the bass has been professionally setup and serviced and is playing like a dream. The neck is straight, truss is healthy and responsive and the pickup and electronics sound great. Comes with a non-original gig bag.
