1979 Ibanez 2681 Professional Bob Weir Model (MIJ)
A model that needs no introduction for die hard Ibanez fans (and Grateful Dead fans of course), the Ibanez 2681 Professional was designed in conjuction with famous blues guitar and member of Grateful Dead Bob Weir and is one heck of a guitar! German carved 2 piece ash top, 3 piece maple neck and butterfly hand engraved Super 80 pickups. Typical of 70s Ibanez we've also got our fair share of solid brass on just about everything as well as plenty of multi-ply binding!
Just professionally restored and serviced, the guitar is 100% original; pickups, pots, machine heads and all hardware aside from a professional refret that was done some time ago it would seem - we've updated it with a fresh level, crown and polish to ensure silky smooth frets, effortless bends and perfect intonation. There is some evidence of binding shrinkage and lacquer checking, however this all appears stable and is non-structural. Currently running 10-46s, it plays and sounds incredible. A must have for any dead head.
