1986 Greco SS63-55 Cream SG (MIJ Mint Collection)
A rare factory finished buttery boy, this Greco SG was made in 1986 right in the peak of the "Mint Collection" manufacturing at the famed Fujigen factory in Japan. They were cranking out some serious guitars and this one is a total weapon in an epic cream finish! Perfectly broken in and worn in all the right places, this SG has plenty of vintage vibe with superb playability and PAF-esque tones that break up beautifully when pushed through an amp at high gain. The neck profile is a slim to medium with a reasonably broad and flat fingerboard for plenty of note articulation and comfortable runs. Frets have stacks of life left in them and are nice and meaty to play.
Completely factory down to the last screw, the nickel hardware is perfectly patina'd and the guitar has never had any structural breaks or repairs. At 2.8kg it's certainly on the lighter side but feels superbly well put together and very comfortable to play. Freshly setup with 10-46s, all electronics function perfectly and the guitar plays like butter. All this for less than the cost of a new Chinese-made Epiphone these days. We know which one we'd rather... Comes with an Ibanez gigbag for some reason.
