1977 Fender Mustang Olympic White (Fullerton CBS Era) (w/ OHSC)

Introduced in 1964, the Fender Mustang is a solid body electric guitar produced by the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. It was the basis of a major redesign of Fender's student models, the Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic. It was produced from 1964-1982 and reissue production began in 1990. Although a relatively unpopular model in the mainstream, the Mustang attained cult status largely as a result of its use by a number of alternative rock bands, in particular grunge bands, most notably played by Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The Mustang features two single-coil pickups, phase-flipping pickup switching configuration, and a unique vibrato system. It was originally available in two scale lengths: 24 inches and 22.5 inches, this one being a 24 inch scale.

This Mustang is a real ripper with a lot of vibe, wear and stories to tell. At some stage it was routed (professionally and cleanly) to have the original switch bypassed and have pickup selection covered by the 3-way toggle, however we've returned it to original switching and the 3-way is now a kill switch. The Olympic White nitrocellulose finish has aged to a deep cream with plenty of wear spots, chips dings and checking. The pickups and wiring harness are original and aside from the added switch, the guitar remains original and unmodified.

The maple neck plays very comfortably with a 24" scale, fret life is around 75% with plenty of life left and only minor pitting visible to the original nickel silver frets. Professionally setup with 10-46s, she's playing nicely with a medium/low action and no dead spots. Comes with its original hard shell red lined case!
