The successor to the venerable JV series, the E serial series of Fender guitars was the first single letter serial following the JVs and ran from 1984-1987 with production carried out in the Fujigen factory. E serials have a reputation for being extremely high quality and extremely accurate representations of vintage instruments in much the same way the JV and SQ series are famed for. This is a beautiful aged white Stratocaster with a tinted maple neck, vintage narrow tall frets and all original electronics and hardware.
The neck is quartersawn maple finished in a heavily tinted polyurethane lacquer with a beautiful D style profile along the full length of the neck, not too thick and not too thin but striking a nice median on the Fender neck profile spectrum. Fender Japan differ from Fender USA in that they lacquer the neck first and then install the frets; this means the frets are incredibly clean with absolutely no lacquer overspray. This attention to detail consistenly sets Japan apart and puts them way ahead of the crowd when it comes to quality.
The original ceramic pickups are full-bodied and sparkley with plenty of top end with a nice moderate reading in the 5kOhm range for all 3 pickups; they have a very consistent frequency response and respond very well to overdrive, distortion and fuzz with plenty of tonal detail and loads of character.
Condition wise, this lovely guitar has it's fair share of dings, scratches and chips, however all is honest wear and very much in line with the guitar's 40 year vintage. Frets are at a solid 80% with only slight wear. The guitar has been professionally setup with 10-46s and is playing beautifully. Comes with a gig bag!

We offer free Australia-wide shipping for orders over $200 via standard courier services. For smaller items such as small parts and screws, we send via Australia Post regular mail service. All items below $200 are a flat $8.99 shipping rate. Express services are also available at an extra cost, just select it at the checkout and we'll get your order out extra fast!
How long does shipping take?
It varies based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders for items that are in stock with our Lewisham store "135 New Canterbury Road, Lewisham 2049", are usually shipped same day, however items ordered from "Deep Tone Warehouse Supply" are special order items that are not stocked in the store. These items can take 2-4 business days to arrive to us from the supplier; from there, the item will be dispatched from our store and the nominated method of shipping will be followed:
For "Standard" shipping:
- VIC, SA and NSW: 2-4 days
- QLD: 3-5 days
- NT, WA and TAS: 5-10 days +
For "Express" shipping:
- VIC, SA and NSW: 1-2 days
- QLD: 1-2 days
- NT, WA and TAS: 1-3 days
