Greco SA-500 ES-339 Style Hollow Body Guitar (1974 MIJ)
F-holeless goodness! Immediately qualifying for the hen's teeth club, the uber-rare F-holeless Greco SA-500 was produced for only one year in 1974 and features a killer flame top and back over sycamore sandwich sides. Featuring a fully hollow body for maximum acoustic resonance and a slim, fast neck for all your jazz runs, this thing is an ES-339 killer and funnily enough was actually developed and produced 30 odd years before Gibson thought it was a good idea too.
A buttery jazz box of tonal goodness, this SA-500 presents in all original condition aside from the bridge pickup being a later Maxon designed pickup (judging off the stamp) and a new Switchcraft jack socket we've just installed. With both pickups on it appears the pickups are out of phase with each other but start rolling the volume down on either pickup and a miriad of in-phase tones start to roll in. Seriously, moving the volume even slightly leads you into totally different territory. Don't ask why, it just happens and it's great. Setup with a fresh set of 10-46s, this thing is playing like a dream. Comes with it's original chipboard case.
